Some evenings in Delhi feel less like events and more like quiet conversations unfolding across a room. RBL Bank’s Iftar gathering this March was one of them, unhurried, warm, and thoughtfully put together in a way that let the spirit of the occasion take the lead.

Hosted at The Leela Palace New Delhi, on 24th February 2026, the evening brought together members of the diplomatic community and a select group of high-net-worth clients. Guests were received by R Subramaniakumar, Managing Director & CEO of RBL Bank, along with Devika Chopra, setting a gracious and welcoming tone for the evening. But what stood out wasn’t the exclusivity; it was the tone. There was a sense of ease in the air, the kind that comes when people are invited not just to attend, but to belong.

As the sun dipped and the city softened into dusk, guests gathered in anticipation of Iftar, the moment of breaking the fast during Ramadan. Conversations flowed gently, punctuated by the clink of glasses and the quiet exchange of greetings across cultures and countries. In a city accustomed to scale and spectacle, this felt refreshingly intimate.

RBL Bank’s approach to the evening reflected a deeper understanding of what Ramadan represents. Beyond the rituals, it is a time rooted in reflection, generosity, and community. The gathering echoed these values, offering a space where professional relationships could take on a more personal dimension. Diplomats, business leaders, and patrons found common ground not in agendas, but in shared moments, over dates, traditional dishes, and conversation.

What made the evening particularly meaningful was its subtlety.

There were no overt displays or grand statements. Instead, the focus remained on connection, on creating an environment where dialogue could happen organically. It’s a reminder that in today’s fast-paced, transactional world, institutions that invest in human relationships often leave the strongest impressions.

This Iftar in New Delhi was part of a broader initiative by RBL Bank to engage with its stakeholders beyond formal settings. Similar gatherings were hosted in Mumbai as well, extending the same ethos of inclusivity and warmth to consular communities there. Together, these evenings reflect the bank’s ongoing effort to build bridges, not just between markets, but between people.
