The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) successfully organised the PHDCCI Agri-Business Awards 2026 under the theme “मिट्टी की पहचान, किसान का सम्मान”, celebrating innovation, entrepreneurship, and excellence in Indian agriculture.
The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, scientists, diplomats, startups, and progressive farmers from across the country. The awards received an overwhelming response, recognizing outstanding contributions in four categories: Startup & Innovation Award, Women Agripreneur Award, Young Farmer Innovator Award, and Progressive Farming Excellence Award.
Dr. P.K. Singh, Agriculture Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. R.G. Agarwal, Chair, Agribusiness Committee, PHDCCI, emphasized the importance of technology, innovation, and market access in enhancing farmers’ incomes and strengthening India’s agricultural sector.
Dr. Sharmila Usman highlighted the need for policy stability, improved implementation of government schemes, stronger market linkages, and greater support for agri-startups and women entrepreneurs.
Mr. Roberto Carlos Papa, Agriculture Attaché, Embassy of Brazil in India, praised farmers as the true champions of food security and sustainability and highlighted the growing agricultural partnership between India and Brazil.
The event concluded with the presentation of awards to outstanding farmers, entrepreneurs, and innovators whose contributions are advancing sustainable agriculture and supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat.
