At the SHoM (Spouses of Heads of Mission) coffee morning hosted on 5th May 2026 at the residence of the Ambassador of Egypt in New Delhi, creativity and culture found a beautiful confluence through the artistry of Parul Bhatia.
As part of the thoughtfully curated gathering, attended by spouses of ambassadors and high commissioners, Ms. Parul Bhatia, founder of Parul Bhatia Designs, led an engaging jewellery-making workshop that complemented the morning’s thematic focus on Egypt’s Siwa Oasis.
Introducing her work, she reflected on the deeper significance of adornment, sharing, “Jewellery is a form of self-expression. It empowers, and it elevates because it’s part of our daily life.” With over two decades of design experience, her creations, crafted using freshwater pearls, natural stones, silver, gold, and diamonds, beautifully merge traditional craftsmanship with contemporary elegance.
Drawing inspiration from the presentation on Siwa Oasis, she highlighted a fascinating cultural connection between Indian and Siwan jewellery traditions. “They are from different worlds, but they share the same common soul: rooted in nature, rich in meaning, handcrafted with love, and now beautifully evolving for the modern world,” she noted, underlining the shared aesthetic and symbolic language of adornment across cultures.
Her workshop brought this idea to life. Guests were invited to create their own fusion jewellery pieces, inspired by both Indian and Siwan motifs. With curated kits and visual references, participants explored their creativity, crafting designs that reflected a blend of heritage and modernity. The session was marked by lively interaction, artistic exploration, and a sense of shared discovery.
Supported by her team, she ensured that the experience was both intuitive and enriching, transforming the workshop into a memorable highlight of the morning.
