On 3rd December, the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi, India hosted a reception to mark three significant national milestones: the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thailand’s National Day, and Father’s Day.
H.E. Ambassador Chavanart Thangsumphant welcomed guests with warmth, emphasising the deep-rooted cultural and spiritual bonds that have connected India and Thailand for centuries. She described the past year as one of “transformative progress” in bilateral relations.
The chief guest, Shri Pabitra Margherita, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, echoed these sentiments, underscoring the profound civilisational linkages and shared heritage between the two nations. The evening began on a solemn note with a short film honoring Her late Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, who passed away earlier this year, followed by a minute’s silence in her memory.
The Ambassador paid tribute to Queen Sirikit’s lifelong dedication as a guardian and global ambassador of Thai arts, culture, and traditions. Adding elegance to the occasion, guests admired a refined exhibition of portraits showcasing The Queen Mother adorned in eight exquisite styles of traditional Thai royal attire.
The gathering beautifully wove together diplomacy, reverence, and cultural celebration, leaving attendees with a renewed appreciation of the enduring friendship between India and Thailand.
