Underscoring India’s accelerating growth across manufacturing, digital technologies and innovation-driven sectors, Mr Sanjay Singhania, Vice President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), called for deeper and more structured industry collaboration between India and South America at the Indo–South America Trade & Investment Conclave on 15 December 2025.

Welcoming diplomats, policymakers and industry leaders, Mr Singhania highlighted the strong convergence between India’s evolving industrial ecosystem and South America’s economic potential, particularly in emerging and future-ready sectors.

“Being a part of the manufacturing fraternity, I would like to share the kind of growth momentum we are witnessing in India today,” he said, pointing to sectors such as semiconductors, electronics, renewable energy and digital technologies as key drivers of the country’s industrial transformation.

India’s Growth Story and Sectoral Convergence

Mr Singhania noted that India’s manufacturing-led growth is increasingly supported by innovation, advanced engineering, healthcare solutions and digital platforms, creating multiple touchpoints for international collaboration.

“Manufacturing, digital technologies, healthcare, engineering—and now a lot of innovation-driven solutions—are shaping India’s economic trajectory,” he observed, adding that these sectors offer common ground for India and South America to connect and grow together.

He emphasised that India’s push towards technology-enabled manufacturing and sustainability aligns well with South America’s strengths in resources, talent and market potential.

“I believe there is a lot of common ground for us to connect and grow, virtually and physically,” he said.

PHDCCI’s Role in Facilitating Global Partnerships

Highlighting PHDCCI’s longstanding role as an industry facilitator, Mr Singhania reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to promoting bilateral and multilateral business engagement.

“As far as PHDCCI is concerned, we remain committed to facilitating global partnerships, something we have successfully done over the years,” he stated.

Through its International Affairs initiatives, PHDCCI actively supports:

·        Industry-to-industry engagement

·        Business delegations to global markets

·        Structured dialogues with governments and trade bodies

·        Promotion of bilateral trade and investment opportunities

“We organise delegations to several countries and actively promote bilateral business opportunities,” he added.

Encouraging Two-Way Business Expansion

Mr Singhania assured full institutional support to South American companies exploring the Indian market, as well as Indian firms seeking to expand into South America.

“We assure our continued support to South American companies looking at India, and to Indian companies aiming to expand into the South American region,” he said.

Calling on industry leaders to engage proactively, he encouraged participants to leverage the presence of diplomats and sectoral experts at the conclave.

“I encourage our industry leaders to participate actively with the diplomats and experts present today to make the best of this platform,” he remarked.
