For a few radiant minutes, the world felt beautifully connected. Diplomacy smiled. Couture spoke. And the runway became a bridge between nations, hearts, and hopes.
There are rare moments in an evening when everything seems to hold its breath—the lights soften, conversations fade, and anticipation sweeps through the room like a quiet tide. At Diplomatic Nite, held on 27th November at Travancore Palace, New Delhi, that spellbinding moment arrived in a gleam of silk, a whisper of handwoven threads, and the poised stride of those who represent the world on a single stage.
The Power Walk by Diplomat Stars, presented by the India Designer Show, unfolded not merely as a fashion showcase but as a vivid celebration of India’s couture heritage meeting the cosmopolitan grace of global diplomacy. It was where diplomacy embraced design, where tradition walked arm in arm with elegance, and where culture found its rhythm under the spotlight.

One after another—the diplomats graced the runway with effortless charm. Ecuador’s Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Fernando Xavier Bucheli Vargas, opened the walk with quiet confidence, followed by the poised elegance of Ethiopia’s Deputy Head of Mission, Amb Bizunesh Meseret. Kenya’s Deputy High Commissioner Amb Mary Mutuku brought a radiant warmth to the runway, and the dignified presence of H.E. Mr. Askar Zholchubekovich Beshimov of the Kyrgyz Republic added a regal note.

North Macedonia’s Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Slobodan Uzunov, carried the stage with understated sophistication, while Romania’s Ambassador, H.E. Ms. Sena Latif, brought a flourish of luminosity to the walk. Seychelles’ High Commissioner, H.E. Ms. Harisoa Lalatiana Accouche, glided with serene grace, instantly captivating the room. Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner, H.E. Ms. Mahishini Colonne, followed with a dignified elegance that mirrored the island’s gentle warmth. And bringing the segment to a memorable close was the Ambassador of Suriname, H.E. Mr. Arunkoemar Hardien, whose stride blended confidence with an unmistakable charm.
Together, they transformed the runway into a vibrant tapestry—each step a tribute to cultural harmony, each ensemble a story stitched with India’s artistry and the world’s spirit.
Just as the applause settled, the evening unveiled its most heartwarming chapter. A special group of young stars, the talented students from the “Inside Me” initiative, stepped onto the stage. Dressed in bright, joyful Indian attire, they embodied courage, creativity, and the purest form of confidence. Standing shoulder to shoulder with the diplomats, they turned the stage into a celebration—not just of couture or culture, but of inclusion itself.
