Diplomatist Magazine hosted its Annual Diplomatic Nite on the 27th of November at the timeless Travancore Palace—an evening already shimmering with elegance, culture, and global friendships. Yet beyond the couture, conversations and clinking glasses lay the true heartbeat of the night: a celebration of community.
Every year, Diplomatic Nite stands not only for diplomacy and design but also for humanity. This year, that tradition of compassion found its most radiant expression in a special initiative dedicated to Inside Me, an NGO working with visually impaired students. Their work, rooted in empowerment and dignity, reflects the very spirit of hope that Diplomatist strives to amplify.
In a moment that touched every corner of the grand hall, a cheque of Rs 1 lakh was presented to Inside Me, received with gratitude and grace by Ms. Shivani Bharadwaj. The applause that followed was not just for the donation—it was for the belief that every small step taken together can change the course of a young life.
But the evening held one more tender gesture.
In a world that often rushes past warmth, Diplomatist’s publisher, Ms. Linda Hawke, chose to pause, breathe, and create. With her own hands, she lovingly knitted a blanket—each loop a quiet prayer, each thread a symbol of care. This handcrafted labour of love was placed before the gathering, not as an exhibit, but as an invitation.
An invitation to join in giving.
Guests were encouraged to contribute Rs 100 each—a modest amount, yet in its simplicity lay something profound. A collective act of kindness. A reminder that generosity does not need grandeur; it needs intention.
Under the soft glow of Travancore Palace, as diplomats, business leaders, and friends of Diplomatist came together, the message resonated deeply: A small act, but one that lights many paths.
