9th India International Folk Festival

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), India’s premier cultural diplomacy body under the Ministry of External Affairs, is delighted to announce its 9th edition of the India International Folk Festival, a vibrant celebration of global folk traditions and cultural heritage. The festival offers an extraordinary experience through the colourful tapestry of folk arts from across the world.

Announcing the event on 1 October at a press conference, the DG of ICCR, Mrs K. Nandini Singla, informed this year’s programme, which will encompass performers from 11 countries, including India and international groups representing India, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Malta, Belarus, Armenia, and D R Congo. A total of 198 artists are performing – 138 from the above countries and 38 from India. The inaugural ceremRony of this event would be held on 4 October 2025 at Central Park, Inner Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi, where cultural groups from India (Medley of Indian Folk), Armenia (Armenian Stars & Nane and D R Congo (La Sanza ASBL) will be performing and on 5 and 6 October 2025 cultural groups from Malta, Poland, Kyrgyzzstan, Srilanka, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Laos would be performing. Apart from Delhi, these groups will also be performing in Chandigarh, Patna, Ahmedabad, Goa, Kolkata, Shillong, Cherapunji and Dehradun. These cities will showcase the folk traditions and cultural exchanges from the above countries.

The India International Folk Festival is not only a platform to showcase varied performances but also a celebration of friendship, diversity, and shared cultural heritage and exchanges.
