At the India-Angola Business Forum held in New Delhi, Mr. Caetano Capitão, President of the Angola-India Chamber of Commerce & Industry, highlighted the chamber’s ongoing efforts to foster robust bilateral economic engagement. He highlighted Angola’s pro-business reforms and the chamber’s role as a strategic enabler in advancing commercial partnerships between the two nations.

Underscoring the chamber’s mission, he explained that their core focus lies in promoting mutual business opportunities, clarifying the bilateral business environment, and supporting sustainable partnerships. “Ultimately, our goal is simple: to generate more business—both in Angola and in India,” he said.

A significant highlight of his remarks was Angola’s recent facilitation of visa-free entry for Indian nationals—a progressive step aimed at enhancing ease of business travel. “This is a significant gesture to encourage greater business travel and engagement,” he added.

Mr. Capitão also drew attention to Angola’s updated private investment law, which offers a transparent and attractive framework for international investors. “These are practical, enabling tools we actively share with Indian businesses exploring opportunities in Angola,” he noted.

The Angola-India Chamber of Commerce & Industry also benefits from close collaborations with Indian business associations, which help identify key sectors where Angola can add value within the Indian economic landscape. “Our partnerships with industry associations and business groups have been instrumental,” he said. “They keep us well-informed of areas where Angola can contribute meaningfully to India’s economic landscape.”

Mr. Capitão reiterated the chamber’s vision: “At the end of the day, our vision is for both countries to grow together—anchored in mutual benefit and long-term sustainability.”
