Continuing the tradition of hosting foreign business delegations, MIICCIA hosted an 18-member business delegation from the World Trade Centre, Utah Region of USA, led by Mr. Jonathan Freedman, President and CEO of World Trade Centre Utah Region, on 27 February 2024, at India International Centre, New Delhi. The delegation consisted of Mr. Gary Herbert, former Governor of the State of Utah, Mr. Deidre Henderson, Lieutenant Governor of the State of Utah, Mr. Derek Miller, President of Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Greg Hill, Chief Administrative officer (CAO) of University of Utah Asia Campus, and other prominent business members from Utah Region of USA.
MIICCIA had also invited Ambassador Abhishek Singh, Joint Secretary, (Economic Diplomacy Division), Ministry of External Affairs, as Guest of Honour. MIICCIA also invited its business members and others who were interested in meeting with the US delegates. There were more than 100 participants in the event.
Welcoming the delegates, MIICCIA President Ambassador Anil Trigunayat, spoke about India-US economic relations, and MIICCIA activities in the promotion of bilateral trade and investment. President of WTC, Utah, highlighted the business interests of the incoming delegates to establish business contacts with the Indian companies in concerned sectors. Ambassador Abhishek Singh informed us about the trillions of dollars of opportunities available for American companies in various sectors in India.
During the Event, two MoUs were signed. A) MIICCIA signed an MoU with the World Trade Centre, Utah and B) Superb Study Abroad, a unit of Superb Enterprise Pvt Ltd (SEPL) signed an MoU with the University of Utah Asia Campus in the education sector.
