MIICCIA’s Business Delegation Explores Opportunities in Addis Ababa

With the support of the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in New Delhi, and the Embassy of India in Addis Ababa, MIICCIA organized a 10-member business delegation visit to Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) from 21-24 February 2024, led by the Director General, to Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), to identify reliable business partners and to explore business possibilities for trade and investment in various sectors of interests. The delegates were from IT, Agriculture including engineering equipment, Mining, Healthcare, Manufacturing, packaging etc.

During the visit, delegates had useful meetings with the Hon’ble Ministers of IT, Technology and Innovation, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Mines, State Minister (Health), and Ethiopian Investment Commissioner, H.E. Mr. Anil Kumar Rai, Ambassador of India to Ethiopia. The Embassy of India organized a business interaction with the prominent local business community leaders and a reception for the visiting delegates, on 22 February 2024.

Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectorial Associations (AACCSA), a non-governmental, non-profit organization, that serves the interests of the local business community, with more than 17,000 members, organized a B2B Seminar in the AACCSA Hall on 23 February 2024 from 10.00 – 13.00 hrs, on different sectors, in which the Indian delegates had meetings with concerned Ethiopian companies for their mutual benefit and established business contacts. All the delegates were happy and satisfied with their meetings and thanked AACCSA for their arrangements for B2B and good interaction with the local business community.

Following B2B, all the delegates visited Addis Chamber International Trade Fair (ACITF), in the adjoining hall, in which there were more than 70 stalls, set up by Ethiopian companies and from other African countries also. There also, Indian delegates had useful business meetings and exchanged their business interests and contacts.

The visit of the delegation to Addis Ababa was successful as all the Ministerial meetings, business interaction in the Embassy of India, B2B meetings in Addis Chamber of Commerce, and participation in the Trade Fair, went very well and the delegates were happy and satisfied with the visit.
