Fostering Economic Diplomacy: Highlights from the 2024 India-GCC Awards Ceremony

On February 11, 2024, the Arab India Chamber of Commerce hosted the India-GCC Awards ceremony at Hotel Eros, New Delhi. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chairman of the All India Imam Organization, and H.E. Mr. Abdulrahman M. Al Gaoud, Ambassador of Bahrain to India, who served as the Chief Guests.

The ceremony aimed to recognise individuals and businesses committed to fostering stronger commercial and cultural bonds between India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. It celebrated innovation and excellence in business design, historical significance, educational value, and public appeal within the India-GCC landscape.

A significant highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Asia Arab Chamber and Risk Exchange (DIFC) Ltd., further solidifying partnerships and collaborations.

The India-GCC Awards programme is dedicated to cultivating a culture of excellence in trade and commerce, thereby enhancing its pivotal role in strengthening societal ties between the Asian and Arab worlds.

Distinguished speakers, including the Ambassador of Bahrain, Dr. Ilyasi, and Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of the India Economic Trade Organization, addressed the gathering. Attendees comprised diplomats, corporate leaders, representatives from NGOs, and various organizations dedicated to the welfare of the Asia-Arab region.

The Arab India Chamber of Commerce serves as a vital platform for fostering economic connections by empowering and promoting the business community it represents at local, national, and international levels.
