Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, alongside senior ministers and bureaucrats of the state government, passionately advocated for the forthcoming 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 during the Curtain Raiser on Friday at The Taj Hotel, New Delhi. They extended a warm invitation to esteemed industry leaders to join them in Gujarat.
Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel underscored the remarkable achievements that Gujarat, under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has attained in showcasing its potential to the world. He emphasized how the state has become a symbol of development, fostering new industries, embracing cutting-edge technology, and creating extensive job opportunities through the renowned Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
Speaking at a curtain raiser event in New Delhi, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel addressed prominent industrialists and investors, offering a glimpse of what lies ahead in the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, slated for January 2024.
At the event, Finance and Energy Minister Shri Kanubhai Desai, Union MoS Smt. Darshana Jardosh, Gujarat Industries Minister Shri Balwantsinh Rajput, State Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi, and senior government officials joined in to celebrate the occasion.
The Chief Minister lauded Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as a visionary leader, reflecting on the inception of the Vibrant Summit in 2003, a concept ahead of its time. This platform, founded on the principles of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future,’ brought global capital investors and thought leaders together, introducing the transformative idea that progress knows no boundaries. Over the past nine years, the Prime Minister has not only spearheaded significant reforms in India but has also established a new global identity for the nation through his visionary leadership.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel highlighted that Gujarat, guided by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for two decades, has rightfully earned recognition as India’s Growth Engine. The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, in particular, has evolved into a vital platform for business networking, knowledge sharing, and socio-economic development.
He celebrated the grand success of two decades of Vibrant Gujarat, which Gujarat fondly celebrated as the ‘Summit of Success’ in the presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He drew parallels between the seed sown by the Prime Minister when the Vibrant Summit was initiated and how it has now matured into a sprawling banyan tree, a testament to Team Gujarat’s commitment to carrying forward the legacy of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel emphasized that the industrialists and investors present at this curtain raiser event bear witness to the nation’s ‘Amrit Kaal’ (Golden Era). He underscored that during this period of prosperity, Gujarat’s progress and development-focused governance have significantly contributed to India’s journey towards growth and prosperity.
The 10th Vibrant Summit is themed ‘Gateway to the Future,’ and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel asserted that Gujarat will play a pivotal role in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ (Developed India) through this summit. Gujarat’s proactive policy framework, business-friendly environment, investor-friendly attitude, and robust industrial infrastructure have made it the preferred investment destination. Furthermore, ‘Gateway to the Future’ is poised to become the gateway to a brighter future for the entire nation.
He noted that Gujarat has initiated its contribution to realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of a Developed India through future-ready mega projects like GIFT City, Dholera SIR, DREAM City, Greenfield Ports, and the Ahmedabad-Mumbai High-Speed Rail project. GIFT City is witnessing the development of emerging sectors such as aircraft leasing, financing, and fintech hubs. Dholera SIR is poised to become India’s largest greenfield industrial investment region and a smart industrial city.
Gujarat has also earned recognition as the ‘Most Preferred Destination’ in the production of semiconductors and display fabs. It was the first state in India to implement the Semiconductor Policy. In the renewable energy sector, Gujarat is aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of a Net Zero Economy, contributing 15% of the country’s total renewable energy capacity, which stands at 20 GW. Gujarat has set an ambitious target of generating 100 GW of renewable energy through the Green Hydrogen Mission.
The Chief Minister revealed that the upcoming Vibrant Summit in January 2024 will feature seminars and conferences covering essential topics such as new emerging sectors, renewable energy, semiconductors, sustainable manufacturing, green hydrogen, electric mobility, and Industry 4.0.
He expressed confidence that the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Summit would present a golden opportunity for investors looking to engage with Gujarat’s immense growth potential. He remained optimistic about achieving success through the Vibrant Summit, counting on the support of investors and entrepreneurs to foster a sustainable and inclusive growth ecosystem.
Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar highlighted that the Vibrant Summit would significantly contribute to realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a USD 5 trillion economy. He attributed this success to the Prime Minister’s guidance and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel’s leadership, emphasizing the policy-driven state, Ease of Doing Business, and good governance that attract investors from home and abroad. He also highlighted Gujarat’s position as the most accessible state for industry and investment in the country.
The event also featured an address by the Secretary of DPIIT, Government of India, and presentations by Shri S.J Haider, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department, who shared Gujarat’s development story.
