A night of celebration and diplomacy unfolded on August 25th at the Shangri-La Eros Hotel, New Delhi, as Uruguay commemorated its National Day. The prestigious event was hosted by H.E. Mr. Alberto A. Guani, Ambassador of Uruguay to India. Distinguished guests from across the diplomatic community gathered to honour this occasion, marking the 198th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uruguay.
The reception was graced by the presence of esteemed Ambassadors and High Commissioners from various Latin American and Caribbean countries, along with representatives from other nations. This diverse gathering showcased the strong bonds of friendship that transcend geographical boundaries.
The esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Smt. Anupriya Singh Patel, Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry underscored the significance of the occasion, highlighting the mutual respect and collaboration between India and Uruguay.
H.E. Mr. Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam, Ambassador of Eritrea to India and the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps also attended the reception. His attendance further emphasized the event’s importance within the diplomatic community.
In a touching gesture, all Heads of Mission were presented with framed pictures of their interactions with the host. This thoughtful souvenir commemorated their presence at this landmark event and symbolized the enduring friendships forged through diplomacy.
