The 3rd TILA International Energy Conference took place at India Habitat Centre on 16th April 2018. It was organised by Dr. Gopal Energy Foundation with Government of Tripura as a Partner State and Power Finance Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation, THDCIL and Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) as main sponsors.
DGEF is a premier non-profit organisation founded on 15th April 2015 with its corporate office in New Delhi. The organisation aims at enabling energy revolution by serving the International Community in the disciplines of Power, Petroleum, Gas, Coal, Nuclear and Renewable Energy sector, with the motto “Energy for All”. The conference started with Open House Multilateral Dialogue on the need for energy revolution between the representative of Singapore, Cameroon, India, Mozambique, Hong Kong and Portugal.
The International distinguished guest included academicians/distinguished guest from three continents including Portugal, Cameroon, Singapore, Mozambique, Hong Kong etc. From India, representatives from International Solar Alliance, Electricity Regulatory Commission, CMD’s/ Directors of PSU’s and Energy funding agencies such as PFC/REC/IREDA/ PTC Financial Corporation along with President-Elect of - Global Solar Council, were present.
The representation of Kuwait was acknowledged through the message of His Excellency Prime Minister of Kuwait for the success of the conference. While welcoming the dignitaries Sh. Raj Singh Niranjan, Energy Law Expert & Legal Advisor of ISA and Convener of the conference, said that the objective of the conference is to bring about “Energy Revolution” by bringing in all the stakeholders on a single platform to discuss the existing government initiatives, policies call out innovative ideas, suggest potential measures in wholesome implementation of government objectives in India (Urja Kranti) to remove the curse of Energy Poverty in India. The speakers deliberated on these themes: International Initiatives For Energy Revolution, National Initiatives for Energy Revolution and State Initiatives for Energy Revolution.
The conference was supported by leading companies in energy sector like Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), Tehri Hydro Development Corporation India Limited (THDCIL), Satluj Jal Vidyut Limited (SJVNL), Railway Energy Management Company Limited (REMCL), National Hydro Electric Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC), Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) and many more. Trans India Law Associates who is Legal Adviser to International Solar Alliance (ISA) was the Knowledge Partner of the Conference. Brochure of the 4th TILA International Conference on Energy (TICE 4) to be held on 15 April 2019 was also released during the conference. The conference ended on a note of thanks to the speakers and other dignitaries.
