About Diplomatic Nite
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Diplomatist magazine hosted 'Diplomatic Nite'. The format was a cocktail and networking evening followed by dinner. As a token of honour to the gathering, Smt. Meira Kumar, former speaker of the Lok Sabha released the Diplomatist annual edition ‘A CELEBRATON OF INDIAN HERITAGE. Smt. Meira Kumar was also the Guest Editor of the edition and Ms. Ann Aquilina, President of the Diplomatic Spouse Head of Mission Association was the Photo Editor. Mr. Reuben Israel enhanced the evening with popular songs.
'Diplomatic Nite' was our way of saying 'Thank you' to the people we serve. Senior Delhi-based Diplomats; Government of India bureaucrats; heads of Chambers of Commerce & Industry; intellectuals from educational institutions and councils; former Indian Ambassadors; Foreign Correspondents and local media; Captains of Industry; and other prominent citizens participated in the evening. Thus, ‘Diplomatic Nite 2015 witnessed the who’s who of Delhi letting their hair down.
A big attraction at Diplomatic Nite was a photo competition cum exhibition/sale organized by Ms. Aqilina, President of the Diplomatic Spouse Head of Mission Association. Forty photographs clicked by Delhi-based diplomats were arranged on easels around the sideline of the venue for all to see and admire. Proceeds from sales were donated to the Delhi Commonwealth Women’s Association and a cheque was handed over towards the end of the evening.
The 'Essence of Diplomacy' is Tact, Sensitivity and Discretion, and thus, it goes without saying that it takes a lot out of a diplomat, both physically and mentally. The universal love of music, food and drink ensures that people come together for celebration of life and togetherness. Hence, an event such as ‘Diplomatic Nite’ was an ideal opportunity to ease a little weight from attendees’ shoulders.
We thank our sponsors, all attendees and staff members who made the celebration a success...
Stand by for the next upcoming Diplomatic Nite...
